Tools and example questions
What the assistant can look up, and questions that work well.
Updated October 31, 2026
The CostCrunch connector gives your assistant 20 read-only tools. You don't call them yourself: ask in plain language and the assistant picks the right ones. The Reference lists every tool and its parameters.
| Tools | What they cover |
|---|---|
search_all | Find anything by name: a supplier, project, invoice number, or material |
documents_list, documents_get, documents_lines, documents_search, documents_counts | Invoices, quotes, credits, and statements, with line items and price checks |
suppliers_list, suppliers_get, suppliers_materials | Spend per supplier and what you buy from each |
projects_list, projects_get | Spend per job, by supplier, month, and cost type |
materials_list, materials_find, materials_get, materials_history, materials_prices | Your materials, price history, and market prices |
spend_monthly, spend_categories | Spend over time and by category |
account_whoami, account_orgs | Which company the key is for |
Questions that work well
- "List invoices from the last two weeks that need attention, biggest first."
- "On invoice 539295, which lines were overpriced and by how much?"
- "Compare what we pay three suppliers for 1/2 inch PEX."
- "Which projects spent the most on lumber this quarter?"
- "Make a table of our top 10 suppliers by spend this year."
Tips
- Name things the way they appear in CostCrunch: supplier names, project addresses, invoice numbers.
- Ask for links: every result includes a link into the CostCrunch app.
- Big questions take several lookups; that's normal.
