CostCrunchGet an API key

Claude Desktop

Add CostCrunch to the Claude Desktop app.

Updated October 31, 2026

  1. In Claude Desktop, open Settings → Developer and click Edit Config. This opens claude_desktop_config.json.

  2. Add costcrunch under mcpServers, with your API key:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "costcrunch": {
          "command": "uvx",
          "args": ["--from", "costcrunch", "cost", "mcp"],
          "env": { "COSTCRUNCH_API_KEY": "cc_live_..." }
        }
      }
    }

    If the file already has other servers, add the "costcrunch": {...} entry next to them.

  3. Save the file and quit and reopen Claude Desktop.

CostCrunch now shows in the tools menu of the message box. Ask a question about your purchasing data to try it.

If Claude can't find uvx, put its full path in "command". Find it with which uvx in a terminal (for example /opt/homebrew/bin/uvx).
