Companies, profiles, and settings

Several companies, several sign-ins, and the environment variables the tools read.

More than one company

If your login belongs to several companies:

cost account orgs # list them
cost account use-org <org-id> # make one the default
cost --org <org-id> spend monthly # or choose per command

An API key always uses the company it was made in.

Profiles

Keep separate sign-ins side by side with --profile:

cost --profile reports auth login --api-key
cost --profile reports spend monthly

Environment variables

VariableDoes
COSTCRUNCH_API_KEYAn API key to use instead of a saved sign-in
COSTCRUNCH_ORGDefault company, for logins in several companies
COSTCRUNCH_PROFILEWhich saved profile to use
COSTCRUNCH_HOMEWhere sign-ins are saved (default ~/.config/costcrunch)

The same variables work for the MCP server and Python.
